Business Development Manager | Corporate Clothing & Uniforms | $75K Base + $10K Car + $103K OTE (Uncapped) | Melbourne (Heidelberg)
A 50-year-old business. Quality product. Loyal client base that's been well looked after. New ownership investing in growth and business development. Plenty of industries still to crack.
They need someone who can hunt and win new business.
What's Happening at Rodney Mark
Rodney Mark has been supplying corporate uniforms and workwear to security firms, local councils, public transport operators, and healthcare providers for nearly five decades. The business has loyal clients, a stable team, and a product with deep, consistent demand across the right sectors.
The business has real foundations and a clear growth plan — investing in e-commerce, manufacturing capability, and new contract wins.
What it doesn't have yet: someone proactively hunting new revenue.
This is a role for someone who knows how to create their own opportunities. You'll build pipeline, run deals end-to-end, and close your own business. The territory has real whitespace — and the brand to back you up when you get in the room.
Why This Role?
$75K base + $10K car allowance + $103K OTE (uncapped)
A tiered commission structure that rewards performance — the harder you go, the more you earn
A recognised brand with nearly 50 years of market presence — you're not selling cold
A business actively investing in growth: e-commerce, manufacturing, and new contracts already in motion
Small, stable team with no politics and no corporate overhead — decisions get made quickly
A workplace that values work-life balance
What You'll Actually Do
Own the full sales cycle — from cold prospecting through to first contact, meetings, negotiation, and close
Build pipeline across corporate, government, council, healthcare, and services sectors
Identify warm leads and referral opportunities within the existing client base
Manage a small book of existing accounts alongside your new business activity
Contribute to tender presentations as they arise — a few times a quarter, not your core focus
Work from the Heidelberg office as your base and spend time in the field — you're part of the team, not a lone ranger
Who This Suits
You don't need to have sold uniforms before. What matters is that you know how to hunt.
Specifically, you're someone who:
Has a genuine track record in new business development — not account management with some prospecting on the side
Has cold called, door-knocked, and built pipeline without relying on inbound leads or a dedicated support team
Has sold into corporate, government, councils, healthcare, or services sectors — you understand longer sales cycles and multi-stakeholder decisions
Is comfortable operating independently in the field
Holds a valid licence and has your own vehicle for field work
